Post-natal Yoga

The post-natal period can be challenging both physically and emotionally. Rachel helps mums combine yoga while bonding with their baby in a relaxing home studio environment. The class teaches mums to reconnect with their strength, develop more energy and alleviate fatigue through reinvigorating the body. It also creates a yoga ‘sangha’ or community in which mums are able to connect and support others.

Women's Yoga 
How do you balance the linear world with the cyclic nature of womanhood? This class series is to support the unique female body and the wisdom that is within to create physical and emotional balance using yoga and Ayurveda. This series will help you to tap into your own natural rhythms that are so closely linked to the cycles of the earth allowing you to find a sense of inner peace and connection to yourself. We will journey through the seasons of the inner cycle and marry these with appropriate yoga, meditation, relaxation explorations.
In simple terms, you will learn about listening to your own wisdom, your body and energy - as well as our relationship to our external environment. And then practice and live accordingly. We will consider the relationship between the lunar cycles and our menstrual cycle and dive into the four stages of the cycle which will include how we practice yoga during each phase. This will be be a small group journey over 4 weeks and would be limited to 10 women. This is suitable for women and girls who have passed through menarche.

​About Rachel​

My name is Rachel Chapman and I create yoga circles.  My teaching was born out of my love for yoga and the beautiful and profound personal journey I found myself on through this practice. I wanted to keep learning and sharing the knowledge with others, I enjoy teaching people of all ages and abilities as much as I love the challenges that I continue to discover in my own personal practice. It is my hope that through my classes people will also experience the deep joy, serenity and healing that yoga has offered for me.

I embarked on a 2 year teacher training journey IYTA Aotearoa in 2007 and have been teaching yoga for 10 years. During my first pregnancy with my daughter in 2009, I also trained in London in Pregnancy and Post Natal Yoga and have taught this ever since.  I have also learnt to guide children and teenagers with Samadhi Yoga in 2011.  All of these learnings have been in Hatha yoga with Panjantali’s sutras at their heart.   

​I feel as though my yoga journey has really helped me to accept and explore what it is like to be a woman in the 21st century, and to embrace the power of the practice for my emotional, mental and physical well-being as well as my soul life.
