About Circle of Yoga
Circle of Yoga, Hastings and Hawkes Bay, teaches a series of classes that work across many levels. Our classes work beyond the physical, and focus on breath work, meditation and visualization and relaxation. We believe that the practice of yoga is an art and science, dedicated to creating union between body, mind and spirit.
Our classes are based on the methodology behind Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, presenting eight steps to yoga where no one step is elevated over another. These steps include the yamas and niyamas that embrace yoga as a way of life, illustrated below. The eight limbs are yamas, nimayas, asana, pranayama, and the four inner disciplines of Pratyahara (sensory withdrawal), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation), and Samadhi (the super-conscious state)

About Rachel
|
My name is Rachel Chapman and I create yoga circles. My teaching was born out of my love for yoga and the beautiful and profound personal journey I found myself on through this practice. I wanted to keep learning and sharing the knowledge with others, I enjoy teaching people of all ages and abilities as much as I love the challenges that I continue to discover in my own personal practice. It is my hope that through my classes people will also experience the deep joy, serenity and healing that yoga has offered for me.
I embarked on a 2 year teacher training journey IYTA Aotearoa in 2007 and have been teaching yoga for 10 years. During my first pregnancy with my daughter in 2009, I also trained in London in Pregnancy and Post Natal Yoga and have taught this ever since. I have also learnt to guide children and teenagers with Samadhi Yoga in 2011. All of these learnings have been in Hatha yoga with Panjantali’s sutras at their heart. I feel as though my yoga journey has really helped me to accept and explore what it is like to be a woman in the 21st century, and to embrace the power of the practice for my emotional, mental and physical well-being as well as my soul life. If you’re interested in yoga classes in Hasting and yoga classes in Hawkes Bay I would l love to help you on your journey. |
